Your Choice for Auto Repair

Have you been in a car accident lately? Most repairs are to expensive to pay out of your pocket so you have to use your insurance! I know this is a bad word, we are not supposed to use insurance we are only supposed to pay for it. But sometimes we have no choice. Currently when you are in an auto accident, you call your insurance company and they will recommend a shop that is part of their direct repair program. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but what happens if you shop isn't part of their network? You have gone to this shop for years, they do excellent work and you trust them. So you tell the claim rep, what happens next is very unfair to consumers, they go into a high pressure spiel about how you should use one of there shops and the dangers and risks you take by choosing out side their network. Why is you choice taken away from you? and why do they need to use a scare technique to steer you to their shop?
When you have an auto accident you have the right to choose where you want to take your car for repairs. Most good shops will give you a lifetime guarantee, work with most insurance companies, have rentals or a rental company available to you, give you an estimated time of repair, some even guarantee this date. Your insurance might refer you to a good shop, and you might know of your own good shop, the important thing is that you make the choice. Doesn't the Constitution of th U.S. guarantee are right to free choice? Then why do the insurance companies feel they can take this away. Make your own choice, they still have to pay for legitimate repairs that are part of the accident, regardless where you go. Be weary of shops offering to save your deductible, they will take that money out of the job somewhere. Auto repair is like any other consumer market, you might have to do a little research to find someone you trust, but in the end make it your choice.
