New Cub?

The rumors are starting about Jim Edmunds becoming a Cub at 36. I have to say about 6 years ago I would be pretty excited. In fact that is pretty much when they decided to pass on Edmunds, because they had Corey Patterson. Who is someday going to reach his potential, maybe in the senoir softball league. God forbid we had picked up Edmunds a proven outfielder while we were still grooming Patterson. But as usual we wait and get a star at the end of his career. I believe it still might be worth it, as the Cardinals have to pay the bulk of his salary and I am sure we would just pick up the league minimum. So maybe worth a shot.

HITS AND CRASHES

Crash Cedrick Benson. I don't think the police needed pepper spray to bring him down, they should have just stood directly in front of him and he would have ran into them and fell down.
Hit Cedrick Benson, I think he deserves credit for giving his mom a great mothers day bash on his boat
Hit Kobe Bryant. The NBA's MVP this year. The Lakers look like they may win the championship this year
Crash The Bulls, we couldn't trade the whole team for Kobe? Why was that? Who were the untouchables the Bulls couldn't trade again? Deng, Heinrich, Gordon? What can we get for them now? Is little Penny still around?
Crash The Cubs, lost another series this time to the Reds and now they have to face the red hot Diamondbacks. Good thing the rest of the Central still sucks.
Hit The NHL. Talk about some great playoff games, and they are down to the final four, which looks to be even more exciting games, Flyers/Penguins and Redwings/Stars. Maybe the NHL is back, I am looking forward to it.

Top Google Searches

On the right is top google searches for May 8th. I get the Scrubs finale, and of course sandwich island, I don't know what it is but with a name like sandwich island has to be good. The other ones I am not so sure about. Laws of motion, that sounds like if I click on it I might learn something, so not searching that. Lyrics for songs have to be popular but why would these be popular right now?
Hit the Road Jack is a great song, but I am pretty sure that is about three quarters of the lyrics right there, so need to search, and the Jeffersons was a great show but I can't see the big rush on searching the lyrics today. Got to go, have to check out Sandwich Island.

What is the big deal

The lastest drama in the White Sox clubhouse centers around a couple of blow up dolls in the locker room. It was a joke made by someone called a slump buster, usually they use a woman from Jimbo's (big fat and ugly) but they were in Toront. Anyway this some how insulted someone, who? Mannequinns, plastic women, other blow up dolls? I am not a Sox fan, but I have to say this is really ridiculous. Its a locker room joke and if the press doesn't like it stay out of the locker room. People are way to thin skinned, they can't wait to complain and act insulted.
There is no way those blow up dolls were supposed to be female white sox fans, they were much better looking.

The Chicago Bitches

Well that is what their manager referred to them as. Wow I can listent to that all day, and then mix in the Lee Elia rant. These guys are great! I love to hear managers explode and just keep rambling. Unfortunately for sports stars, celebrities, etc... this comes with the territory. People question you, watch what you do and report on it. As a coach, you will be second guesses constantly, so deal with it! Every fan has an opionion about what to do, if we are fans and we pay to see the games why can't we. Sorry Ozzie, but grow up and quit being a Chicago Bitch.
Check out the link for the full rant.

Post Derby

Well after a long day of drinking yesterday and a lot of recovery today. I finally remembered that I lost everyone of my Derby bets. Nice job. Big Brown was the favorite and the winner.
I don't usually bet on a favorite at 5-2 it doesn't seem worth it. But then again a win is a win, and it is better than what I have a big fat zero. Anyway the sad part is Eight Belles who finished second broke her ankels and had to be put down. That was quite a downer, worse might be that the horses I picked couldn't beat a horse who broke its ankles.
Hoping to see the Cubs take 2 out of 3 from the Cards tonight. They are on ESPN. GO CUBS

Kentucky Derby

My 2 picks for the Derby are Colonel John who is 4-1 and Court Vision who is 20-1.
I am no horse expert and only bet on the triple crown races, and occasionaly when I go to the track. So I tried to find as much info I can on the race. From what I can see, the horse that is on the roll right now is Court Vision. His times are getting faster and faster and I don't think he has hit his peak. At 20-1 that is a good enough reason for me to pick him. I also like Colonel John who is now the favorite. I think based on being in the 4th pole position and he usually gets a good start he will be tough to beat. 4-1 makes him a nice safe pick. A couple of long shots I like are Gayego and Tale of Ekati at 15-1 each Also Pyro has a pretty good number at 7-1, I think he is worth boxing with your favorite.
My prediction is to win Court Vision, place Colonel John, and show Pyro.
Vote for your favorite. Have a mint julep(actually I hate them,) maybe a nice glass of Knob Creek on the rocks and your favorite beer and enjoy the day.
